The miles of lanes, which take in the area leading to Tregavethan on the outskirts of Truro, are often used by people living in the Shortlanesend area to commute to Royal Cornwall Hospital and shops in the Treliske area. Residents of Shortlanesend told CornwallLive last week they were concerned there had been no consultation as the first they knew about it was when letters arrived from Cormac , the highways arm of Cornwall Council. Truro city councillor Stuart Roden told CornwallLive that he and other councillors in the Truro area have been contacted by worried locals. This was the first many people had heard of it and it seems that it hasn't been considered by Truro City Council although some of the lanes are within the city council area. It doesn't seem that they have implemented any measures to deal with this. There is a planning application to extend the cycle route but also put in a pedestrian island and new bus stop.
